Quinn’s recently opened studio and showroom, which TV Guide referred to as “a cozy bungalow in midtown Manhattan,” is now the focal point of his work in clothing and costume design. WWD called his designs “tasty.” And Dance View Times said he, “is cutting and draping and coloring the most beautiful dance costumes to be found in New York.” Lori Ortiz of Gay City News described his work as “ridiculously flattering.” And added that, “David Quinn’s fab costume designs are …integral to the dance theatre…creat(ing) changing tableaux.”
--This summer saw his gowns at the Drama Desk Awards, the Tony Awards, and the Daytime Emmy Awards. A first for Mr. Quinn, a dress of his was featured on two episodes of daytime television’s One Life to Live. Also, this past June, his participation in Robert Melee’s Talent Show at The Kitchen, was referred to in Artforum as an, “extravaganza of costume and fashion…a stunning spectacle.”
